An advanced step up from the entry-level mBot, the Ranger transforms into three distinct builds in one kit: Land Raider, an all-terrain robot tank; Dashing Raptor, a three-wheeled racing car; and Nervous Bird, a self-balancing two-wheeler. Each form can be assembled in 15 to 30 minutes with clear, beginner-friendly instructions, making it an engaging project for kids and parents to tackle together.

Powered by the Me Auriga mainboard, the kit comes loaded with sensors and modules that expand what kids can build and program, including an ultrasonic sensor, line-tracking sensor, dual light sensors, gyroscope, 12 RGB LEDs, a buzzer, temperature sensor and Bluetooth connectivity. These components open the door to more advanced robotics projects as a child's skills grow.

Kids can control and program their robot through the Makeblock app, starting with Scratch-based drag-and-drop coding for beginners and progressing to Arduino C text-based programming for more advanced learners. The mBlock5 app offers guided lessons along the way, helping kids build real programming and problem-solving skills while improving hand-eye coordination, creativity and logical thinking.
